In a stylized version, the pillar Djed symbol represented together bound sheaves of corn. Thanks to its close connection to fertility, it quickly became the main cult fetish of vegetation and dead god Osiris of Abydos. On the occasion of the celebrations for this mystery God included the "raising of the Djed-pillar 'to the main action operations.
