Heute ist der kunsthistorische Wert dieser Figuren unermesslich: Der Münchner Zyklus ist weltweit die einzige freifigürliche Darstellung des Maurentanzes, einem fröhlich ausgelassenen Spektakel, das Kreuzritter aus dem Morgenland mitgebracht hatten.
