Die Reliefszene stammt aus dem berühmten Terrassentempel der Königin Hatschepsut, den sich die Herrscherin auf dem thebanischen Westufer im Talkessel von Deir el-Bahari anlegen ließ. Heimkehrend aus dem Weihrauchland Punt, von dem sie bei ihrer friedlichen Handelsexpedition Gold, Edelhölzer, Myrrhe und weitere wertvolle Gegenstände mitbringen, huldigen die Elitesoldaten im Triumphzug der Pharaonin. Neben ihren Waffen und Feldzeichen tragen die Soldaten auch duftendes Strauchwerk in den Händen.
