Die Deutsche Schule war zur selben Zeit aus dem Zentrum Jakartas in ein neues grosses Gebäude in die Peripherie von Jakarta nach BSD umgezogen, da die alte Schule zu klein geworden war. Allerdings hatte während des Baus der neuen Schule der Abgang des Präsidenten Sohartos und die damit verbundenen Unruhen auch viele Expatriats aus Indonesien vertrieben. Bei der Neueröffnung des neuen Schulgebäudes, das für 450 Schüler gebaut worden war, bestand die Schülerschaft aus unter 200 Schülern. Die oberen Stockwerke waren leer, teilweise noch nicht ausgebaut und die wenigen Schüler verloren sich fast in diesem großen Gebäude. Die Zukunft der Schule war unklar. Ein Weg dieser Leere im Schulgebäude zu begegnen war da Projekt „Program Integrasi“. Das Program Integrasi erlaubte indonesischen Schülern aufgrund eines MOU mit dem indonesischen Erziehungsministerium nach Abschluss der indonesischen Grundschule die deutsche Schule zu besuchen. Dieses Program war allerdings, besonders wegen der deutschen Sprache, die in allen Fächern benötigt wurde, eine extreme Herausforderung für indonesische Schüler.

The German school was moved at the same time from the Centre of Jakarta in a new building in the outskirts of Jakarta to BSD, since the old school had become too small. However the departure of President Sohartos and the troubles associated had expelled during the construction of the new school also many expatriates from Indonesia. At the opening of the new school, which was built for 450 students, the student body consisted of under 200 students. The upper floors were empty, partially expanded and a few students lost in this big building. The future of the school was unclear. This void in the school building to meet was a "Program Integrasi" da project. The program Integrasi allowed Indonesian students on the basis of a MOU with the Indonesian Ministry of education after the Indonesian elementary school to attend the German school. This program was an extreme challenge for Indonesian students however, particularly because the German language, which was needed in all subjects.
