Die "Achtundvierziger"-Revolution war, ingesamt gesehen, ein einziger, aber in viele Straenge und Schauplaetze differenzierter Revolutionprozess, der nicht nur die Laender des Deutschen Bundes, sondern abenso weite Teile des uebrigen Europa erfasste, vor allem Italien, nicht aber Grossbritannien und Russlan. Dieser Prozess begann im Februar 1848 mit der Ausrufung der Zweiten Republik Frankreich. Er endete im August 1849 mit der brutslen Unterwerfung der letzten Aufstandlischen in Ungarn durch oesterreichische und russische Truppen.
