Until 1872, the Parisian stockbroker Paul Gauguin, who was born on the 7.6.1848 here, by Claude-Emile Schuffenecker found access to the painting. He began collecting the works of the Impressionists and studied painting at the Colarossi Academy. He met Pissarro and Cézanne, worked with them, and exhibited with the Impressionists. In Pont-Aven he met Bernard, in Paris on Degas and van Gogh brothers.
