Porträt der Künstlerin Marg MollMarg Moll gilt als die einzige deutsche Bildhauerschülerin des französischen Fauve-Künstlers Henri Matisse. Von ihm übernahm die Städel-Absolventin das Konzept des Gleichgewichts eines Körpers und des Zusammenfassens von Details - der Beginn der Abstraktion. Moll widmete sich früh dem Gebiet der Skulptur und schuf ihre ersten plastischen Werke lange vor Käthe Kollwitz. Damit ist sie außerdem die erste Bildhauerin der Klassischen Moderne.
