Karsten Kusch, Jahrgang 1972, war ehemaliger Meisterschüler von Professor Klaus Fußmann und zählt zu den jungen Realisten in der Berliner Szene. Seine Malerei und Grafik setzt sich mit Stadt-Räumen und maritimen Orten auseinander. Der Künstler war "Inselmaler 2011" des Sylter Kunstvereins. Während mehrerer Aufenthalte auf der Insel entstanden zahlreiche Werke in Malerei und Druckgrafik.
