Wunderlichs Schachfiguren, in edler Bronze gegossen, stammen aus dem unerschöpflichen Mythenfundus des Künstlers. Vorbild für die "Dame" ist die griechische Göttin Nike. Bei Wunderlich entfaltet sie eine Aura sich enthüllender und entziehender Weiblichkeit; erotisch, rätselhaft aber unverletzbar.
