Such Stork-shaped umbilical clamps were actually used by physicians of the Baroque period during childbirth. The Stork as a bearer of children here wears a wrap child in the stomach, and is a popular symbol of the womb on a lucky frog. The terminal can be attractively placed as a table object. Original: Silver, c. 1710. Originally from the silver Chamber of the Munich residence, now in private ownership. Ars mundi-Museum replica in silver plated metal casting, hand poured. Length 13 cm.
