In seinem Projekt "PaperRoads" ist er dem Weg des Papiers von China nach Europa gefolgt - ein historisches Beispiel des Kulturtransfers als künstlerischer Gegenentwurf auf ein auf die westliche Welt zentriertes Weltbild. In den Zyklen "Landscapes" und "Witterung" folgte archaische Landschaftsmalerei. Sein Zyklus "Abgründe" zeigt großformatige Schwarzweißarbeiten. Daneben bespielt Tiemann brillant seine künstlerischen Themen in der 3. Dimension (Skulptur, Bronze).

In his project "PaperRoads" he is the way of the paper from China followed to Europe - a historical example of cultural transfer as an artistic alternative on a worldview centered on the Western world.
