Der Text "Das Fenster Theater", der

Der Text "Das Fenster Theater", der von Ilse Aichinger 1949 geschrieben wurde,
handelt von einem Missverständnis zwischen einer Frau und einem alten Mann,
welche sich gegenüber wohnen. Die Frau steht an in ihrer Wohnung, im vorletzten Stock, an ihrem Fenster und wartet auf ein neues Geschehen. Sie entdeckt, kurz bevor sie sich vom Fenster abwenden will, dass der alte Mann gegenüber sein Licht anknipst, was ihr
Interesse weckt. Der Mann öffnet und nickt hinüber. Die Frau weiß nicht ob sie gemeint ist, da unter ihr nur eine Werkstatt ist, die um diese Zeit schon geschlossen ist und über ihr, ihrer Meinung nach, die Wohnung nicht bezogen ist. Der alte Mann bemerkt, dass er keinen Hut aufhat und verschwindet zurück in sein Zimmer. Kurz darauf kommt er mit Mantel und Hut wieder an das Fenster. Er nimmt ein weißes Tuch, lächelt und winkt dabei mit diesem, weit über die Brüstung. Der Mann nimmt seinen Schal und wand ihn wie ein Turban um seinen Kopf. Als der Mann einen Kopfstand macht, ruft sie die Polizei. Als die Polizei kommt, kann sich die Frau von dem Blick des Mannes entreißen und kommt atemlos bei den Polizisten an. Der alte, schwerhörige Mann reagiert nicht auf das Klopfen und Klingeln der Polizisten. Als diese die Tür aufbrechen, steht der Mann mit dem Rücken zur Tür immer noch am Fenster und macht weiterhin scherzhafte Bewegungen. Erst jetzt bemerkt die Frau, dass in der Wohnung über ihr jemand eingezogen sein muss. Am Fenster, steht ein kleiner Junge der dieselben Bewegungen macht. Die Frau realisiert nun, dass der alte Mann nicht sie, sondern das kleine Kind am Fenster gemeint hat.
